The province of Aquila is considered a territory of invaluable value under the ambient, cultural, historic and enogastronomico profile. Its territory has not mouth on the sea and is extended in the most high and hilly zone of the central Appennino. Rich zone of waters, its main cultivations are constituted from cereals, potatoes, trees from fruit, vine, beetroots and varied vegetables and, above all in the Altopiano of the middle Aterno, the precious saffron. The tradiotional sweets are the mostaccioli, the ferratelle, the cagiunitti and the zeppole while from not to forget is the production of the DOC wines Montepulciano of Abruzzo and the Trebbiano of Abruzzo.
