|
The Gallery of Modern Art of Forti Palace of Verona inaugurates october 15 an exhibition for the sculptor Alik Cavaliere (Rome,1926-Milan,1998), one of the most original personality of the artistic european outline of the second post-war. At seven years from his death will be possible to go back over the poetic itinerary of the artist, which bagun to expose in 1945 and with the exhibitions at the Biennial exhibition of Venice of 1964 and of 1972 was sanctioned his affermation at international level. The review of Forti Palace includes numerous extraordinary works as Apollo e Dafne (1971), I processi (1972), La stanza di Pigmalione (1986-87), Le riflessioni di Narciso (1988), L'Orlando Furioso (1994-96) and some plastic works: Giochi proibiti (1958-59), Le metamorfosi (1959), the viaggio-racconto di Gustavo B.(1960-62), Cespugli (years '60 and '80), W la libertà (years '70), the serie degli alberi and of the Donna corteccia (years '90). The irony of the artist is mixed with a consuming and silent gloom showing so the dramatic tension of the life: swaying figures walk towards the city, surreal trunks with improbable fruits, nests of roses muddled under cages-prisons. The artist, with its infinite experiments of materials (iron, bronze, aluminium, glass, crystal, fabric, pottery) and techniques (from the sculpture at the scenographic preparations) shows its faithfull artistic engagement in favour of an art that is life and, since such, drama, tension and psychic and physical involvement.
