September 10 the opening of the exhibition Jean Cocteau: the poet, the witness, the fraud marks the renewal of the expositive activity of the Magnani-Rocca Foundation of Mamiano of Traversetolo (Parma). The exhibition entertains extraordinary loans from important public and private collections and sees, between the others, the support of the Embassy of France in Italy and of the Comité Jean Cocteau of Paris. The exhibition gathers itself on the polyhedric figure of the french poet that was also novelist, essayst, critic, cinematographic director, playwright, designer, painter, testing all languages that the art offered him. The artist lived between the Belle Époque and the age of the Vanguards and of both the periods was sharp and refined witness, rousing the admiration of d'Annunzio. Will be proposed a unpublishe vision of the figure of the french poet and will be exploited the important and little well-known reports between Cocteau and the Italy, putting the accent on his relations with more personality of relief in the artistic and cultural outline of the peninsula. The exhibition is divided in three sections: the Odisseo section presents some works that, interpreted from the critic of art Cocteau, have a new key of reading; the Orfeo section offer a selection of graphic works, drawings and books of artist. The last section, called Gli Argonauti, presents works of contemporary artists of Cocteau: Klinger, de Chirico, Picasso, Modigliani, Severini, Savinio, Morandi and Carrà.
