Casa di Riposo per Musicisti Fondazione Giuseppe Verdi

The structure is born architecturally from an idea of Camillo Boito in 1899, on wish of Verdi to give hospitality to the old musicians; in a crypt at the centre of the inside garden (decored from allegorical mosaic works of Lodovico Pogliaghi) is buried Giuseppe Verdi with near the second wife Giuseppina Strepponi; the tumb is visitable from 10.00am at 12.00am and from 02.30pm at 06.00pm. The advisable hours are reported to the opening of the janitor's lodge. At the first floor of the palace, a verdiano museum with works of Boldini, Gemito, Palizzi, Michetti, Morelli. On the opposite square the building, monument to Verdi, of Enrico Butti.
