Realized between 1863 and 1866, is work of the architect Carlo Maciachini. Are present works of architects and carvers Luca Beltrami, Mosè Bianchi, Medardo Rosso, Vincenzo Vela, Ettore Ximenes, Adolfo Wildt, Francesco Messina, Pietro Cascella, Giacomo Manzù. Under the principal entry are buried famous citizens between which: Arrigo Boito, Luigi Cagnola, Arturo Toscanini, Alessandro Manzoni, Salvatore Quasimodo, Carlo Forlanini, Carlo Cattaneo, Amilcare Ponchielli, Francesco Hayez.
