SaluzzoThe extraordinary landscape of Piedmont includes a special island: the Province of Cuneo. The historical isolation of a province far from the main roads is nowadays the key to what we might callmade in Cuneo: being far awya from the most important trades has allowed us to preserve and protect our land and to develop high quality niche produce, offering, within range of a few kilometres, infinite surprises so to wet everybody's taste.
The taste of those who love the good produce of the land: a land that is still clean and where organic farming is not shattered by an irretrievably compromised environment so to offer healthy and wholesome food.
But in the made in Cuneo there is also the taste of those who love the mountain footpaths silence, only sometimes interrupted by a marmot's whistle: the natural parks, the protect areas and the oasis of the cuneese offer a pure nature, wisely managed and easily usable either for the inexpert visitor or for the adventurous alpinist. The taste of those who want an holiday at the sign of the well-being in one of the thermal centres between the pure mountains. The taste of those who love the little medieval villages, ancient marquisates, monuments and buildings that here testify our royal past. In this wonderful frame rises Saluzzo, for four hundred years the centre of a rich and strategical medieval marquisate between France and Piedmont. It minted money and hosted to court artists and men of letters. Its town centre is still today unaltered and charming.
The night, is magic in the labyrinth of the town centre: pubs, restaurant, wine bars and fashion locals are the heart of the "movida" in Saluzzo. The market on Saturday morning is one of the most important in Piedmont.
Mountains, hills and plaes create an environment for the each season: the Monviso, the majestic "stone king" of Piedmont, dominates on everything. In its white mantle, it is a real nature sight. Here the Po, the longest Italian river, has its source. It rises from its heart and flows down along the valley showing different and coloured landscapes to the tourist.
Walking in the green, climbing the rocks, sailing the river, cycling in the woods, skiing...all that is a misure of man and nature.
Is in the garden of the Monviso that i sborn the fruits of the Saluzzo territory, pure energy of Piedmont: apples, peaches, kiwis, grapes and small fruits have the taste of the territory. Devotion and high specialisation in the cultivations guarantee the environment and the consumer.
The treasure of the marquisate is represented from the handicraft, from the agriculture and from the antique trade, but also from an high specialisation of the reception.
