| Catanzaro, chief town of the region Calabria, rises on a series of necks that appear on the Ionio. Above all it is agricultural and commercial center, little are the industries. All year is perfect to visit the province: in autumn when the forests of beeches dye of red, in winter when the spacious pastures are covered of snow and in the spring-summer period when the cost is illuminated from a clear and blue sea. The economy of the province is based essentially on the agriculture and on the commerce, even if very developed are also the fishing, the breeding and the handicraft activity. Imposing are the historical depositions, that go from the Age of Stone until to the beginnings of the '900. The province catanzarese accomodates numerous museums, some of which absolutely sole, like that of the carriages, that risorgimentale and the Municipal Museum of Taverna. Go through from numerous course of water, like Amato and Corace, with tourist locality of extraordinary beauty what Copanello, Caminia and Stalettì, known for the baths of Caronte, the territory of the province catanzerese represents also the administrative and commercial heart of the region. The cusine of this zone is specially rich for the presence of the fish proveninece from two seas, that give large variety of fish products: the most typical is sword fish that is the basic a lot of prescriptions, besides the anchovies and other cooked fish with the vegetables and the aromas for the more in oven. The seafaring cooking is supported from that of land that is based on cheese, the vegetables and the meat, of pig above all. A tradiotional dish in which to the costolette of pig link the frattaglie is the "morseddu" said note to the catanzarese. |
