Basilica di Santa Maria delle Carceri

The Basilica, work of symmetry and proportions, was built after a series of prodgious manifestations of a Madonna With Child painted at the outside of an ancient prison and now reserved in the Basilica. The structure is presented in the harmonious proportions of the greek cross surmounted from a cupola, while the outer vestment, in white-green marbles, was not ended. At its inside is possible to admire four splendidn windows of Domenico Ghirlandaio and a white and blue majolica of Andrea Della Robbia. Under the sacristy, there are some environments of the old prisons.
