The Castle is built on a rocky peak at precipice on the torrent Evancon and dominates the underlying village of Verrès. The building is cubic and extremely sober, from the imposing aspect and from the severe architecture, but with delightful decorations, famous for the celebrations of the Carnival of Verrès and for the annual historic recalling of the dance of Catherine of Challant and Pierre d'Introd.
This Castle is the most fine monument of the feudal age in Valle d'Aosta. From october at february open from 10.00am at 12.30am and from 01.30pm at 05.00pm, closed thursday.
