Palazzo Conte Federico

The Conte federico Palace is one of the oldest and prestigious buildings of Palermo. The ancientest part of the palace is one arabic-norman tower of the XII century called "Torre di Scrigno", was placed above the walls of the town. From the inside courtyard, decorated in stone for work of the great baroque architect Venanzio Marvuglia, and through the big staircase in red marble enter in the noble floor with its numerous lounges that reflect the various periods across that is passed the story of this palace. In the various lounges, furnished with original pieces of furniture and pictures of famous artists of the epoch, can be admired the wooden painted ceilings of the XV century, the eighteenth-century frescos and the different collections of arms and of ancient pottery. Today in the palace lives the Lord Alessandro Federico and his family and for this reason can be visited only on reservation.
