The accession of the austrian took at the apix the period of renascence of Monza, gandicraft and agriculture were developed, bloomed the first monzesi villas (Villa Brambilla, Villa Pertusati, Villa Rampini, Villa Ubaldi, etc). Maria Teresa of Austria does build in 1777 the magificent Villa Reale while the architect Piermarini builds also the Theatre Arciducale, destroyed from a fire in 1802. The textile activity touches its greates development with rise of numerous spinning-mills and works.
