Monza under the Sforza
 
The fights between Milan and Francesco Sforza see Monza besieged two time from this last. The town surrended at the leader in 1449. His wife Bianca Maria Visconti, inclined at the artistic progress, assures in Monza prosperity in spite of the wars and the pestilence. The Zavattari fresco the pictorial series dedicated at Teodolinda in the chapel of the Cathedral, Pellegrino Tibaldi plans the baptistery and the bell-tower of the Cathedral. At Bianca Maria followed the sirs Galeazzo Maria Sforza and Gian Galeazzo, under the regency of Bona of Savoy. Monza was then allowed like personal dominion at Ludovico Sforza, that passed it at Carlo I and then from Francesco of France at Arthur Goufier, until at the spanish domination.
