The Italian Association of the Red Cross was founded in 1864 and is composed from doctors, nurses and volunteers. The Red Cross officates, in peace time, activity of health and attendance activity for civil disableds and seniors; in case of fight (also abroad), contributes with own means and staff for the clearing out and the care of injured with the set up og military hospitals from field, seats of first aid, ambulances.
