Lecco, in Lombardy, is situated to the end of the eastern branch of Lario. The evocative landscape that form the rocky walls of mountain San Martino and of Resegone characterizes Lecco and makes it a charming town and so beautiful to provoke emotions that inspired the well-known writer Alessandro Manzoni that, just in this land, setted its immortal romance "I Promessi Sposi". Artistically speaking the zone has some interesting places to visit among which the Municipal Museum that takes in relics of the indipendence war and of World War I; the Villa of Manzoni, where the writer spended long period of his youth, takes care of collected of memories and heirlooms. In the environs of Lecco is possible find charming places of vacation, ideal for trips to contact with the nature, like Ballabio and the Piani of Erna, where is also possible to ski. |
