Been based on 1577 from Francesco I de' Medici, had a considerable development thanks to the harbor function. Remember the Cathedral, the Church of Santa Caterina, the Fortezza Vecchia, the monument of the Four Dark. To visit som villas: Villa Maria and Villa Fabbricotti. The livornese cusine presents the typical dishes of the seafaring kitchen. The main dish is the caciucco, follow then the pappa with tomato, the riso with the cuttlefishes, the stoccafisso to the livornese. From the livornesi hills come the fine wines DOC: the Bolgheri (White and Rosy), the Val of Cornia (White, Red and Rosy) that is produced in the zone of Campiglia Marittima. |
