This church rises in the district of Rovereto, one of the former boroughs of Alessandria and among the oldest areas of the city. Recent excavations have provided the existence of older churches under the present building, bringing to light their foundations. The current structure dates back to the fifteenth century and is mostly Gothic in style, though subsequent modifications have altered the original layout.
