Seems that the cult and consecration of the basilica built from the Arcangelo have their beginning between the V and VI century, period in which San Michele cared with the water of Stilla.
In the second half of the VII century seems that Longobardi occupy the Sanctuary unifyed the diocese of Benevento and Siponto until then divided.
