Wanted in the second half of the eighteenth century by Maria Teresa d'Austria, the University Library of Pavia has a book rich patrimony, that at first has formed with the double volumes of the libraries of Brera and of Vienna, with important legacies and with changes, and that subsequently has enriched with the purchase of whole libraries and of libraries funds. At the moment it has about 500.000 works at printing, 4.106 titles of newspapers, 4.097 manuscripts, and 1830 printings.
