The ancient medieval castle (erected before of the 1181) is in the singular crack of the rocky wall that overhangs the village of Mezzocorona. The large cave that entertains the ruins of the stronghold can be reached through a rapid route that is unknoted from the underlying castle. For the particular type of structure indoor of the caves, in the Trentino those castles are called "crowns", the ancient name of the Castle in fact is "Crown of Mezo". The manor-house is now in collapse, but are recognizeable the main entrance and the loop-holes that defended the entrance of the fortress.
