The potent military fortitude was built at work of the venetians around at the '500 on a primitive medieval installation.
Further fortifications were effected erecting bastions and strong towers in occasion of the "roveretana war". At end '700 the castle was occupied from french of Napoleon and later on austrian.
Restored in the post-war, today the castle is seat of the Historic Italian Museum of the War.
