The expositive rooms are indoors of the palace built between 1764 and 1771 for will of Francesco III d'Este. It was of the Common in 1881 at the aim to reunite in it the cultural city institutes: Lapidario Estense Museum, Libray and Estensu Gallery, Supervision to the Artistic and Historical Goods, Municipal Historical Archives, Civic Archeaological Ethnologic Museum, Civic Museum of Art, Libray of Stry of the Art "Luigi Poletti".
