The "Satiro Danzante" is the italian protagonist of the Universal Exposure of Aichi 2005: recovered in 1998 on the oundings in the neighbourhood of Mazara del Vallo in Sicily is a bronze sculpture of the IV century B.C. ascibed at Prassitele and restored recently.
The general subject of the EXPO is "La Saggezza della Natura" that is evident in the italian Pavillion in significative and pertinent manner, represented from a specific subject: "The art of the live". The italian way of life results, then, strictly connected with the richness of the Mediterranean, with the brightness and the beauty of the climate, with an glad and cheerrful approach at the life.
In this frame will be developed, by the Expo Dome, april 28, the Italian Day with the performance of the musical band of Carabineers (engaged then may 4 in the "2005 World Police Band Concert at Aichi World Expo" at the Hatsudai Opera City of Tokyo) and the show of the Sbandieratori dei Rioni di Cori, composed by buglers, sbandieratori and drummers in parade.
During all the length of the Expo, that is until at september 25, a long list of collateral events will carry a little of Italy in Japan: until at june 12 at the Toyota Municipal Museum of Art is open the Show of Poor Art with works of great artist of the twentieth century, june from 1° at 30 at the University of Belle Arti of Aichi will be prepared the photographic exhibition Metaphysical Town, with images of the italian architecture of the years '30, realized in collaboration with the Triennial of Milan; for the smallest, may from 10 at 11 of june "Infantàsia. Marks and drawings of italian and japanese children", a selection of childish drawings from 1938 at today, by the Memorial Art Museum of Setsuko Migishi of Bisai City.
From april 27 at 3 of may at the Mazuzakaya Dept. Store of Nagoya will be developed the Mazuzakaya Italian Fair with presentation of agroalimentary products, clothes, accessory of fashion, typical products and handicraft Made in Italy, while, may from 20 at 21, in contemporary with the Festival of the Italian Cinema of Tokyo, at the International Center of Nagoya, there will be a cinematographic review with the projection of films of the italian cinema: Teatro di Guerra, Santa Maradona, Fuori dal mondo, Radiofreccia, Brucio nel vento.
From may 27 at 3 of june by the Sasashima Satellite area of Nagoya will be developed the celebrations in occasion of the twinship between Nagoya and Turin.
More also the shows of music, dance and theatre: 15,16,17,18 and 20 of april five performances of the roman quintet Acustimantico, that plays popular italian musics, balcaniche and indian; may 6 and 8, in collaboration with the Campania Region and the Fondazione Mediterraneo, two concerts of Eugenio Bennato e l'Orchestra Euromediterranea.
May 29 concerts of the Baroque and Classic Orchestra of the Fondazione Montis regalis of Mondovì, Cuneo; july 17 still great music with Franco Battiato and classic dance with Roberto Bolle, étoile of the Teatro della Scala.
