Pop Eye Festival in La Spezia

POP EYE is born in the ambit of a network called Metamorphosea that includes international festival of big relief that have in common an organic report with the cities that entertain them intervening in that process of metamorpjosis from industrial cities at cities that compare themselves with the challenges of the tourism, with a new livability for the citizens and characterized from a same search about the most contemporary and contaminated shapes of art.
The POP EYE name was chosen because the manifestation wants to be a big eye that looks, examines, filters and reproduces every aspect of the pop reality (above all musical, but not only), with the vital energy, the curiosity, the dinamism and the irony of the other big Popeye, that Braccio di Ferro expression of the exuberance and of the brain of everything that is born from the sea.
The program expects a thirty of events that go from the concert at the dj set, from the exhibition at the reading, from the meetings at the projections. Great international artists Patti Smith (friday july 1° at 09.30pm, 22,00 euro), Sonic Youth (tuesday june 28 at 09.30pm, 20,00 euro) ans Skatalites (saturday july 2 at 11,30pm, free entrance) will be supported in the program from historic italian biands like Afterhours (june 30 at 08.30pm, entrance 13,00 euro) and Bandabardò (saturday june 25 at 10.00pm, entrance 10,00 euro); Cristina Donà and L'Aura will divide the stage for a free concert june 29 at 09.30pm; monday 27 concert of Luca Nesti, author and tuscan singer, at 09.30pm, with free entrance; will be presented also a selection of band and dj set locals that represent at the better the cultural and musical ferment that La Spezia is living in the last seasons. Patti Smith will present also an exhibition (open july from 1° at 5) and will be protagonist of a reading at the CAMeC, the centre of Contemporary Art july 1° at 07.00pm.
