Not any visitor can not remain charmed from the majesty of the Cathedral with its needleful towers, the mullioned windows, interlaced and ogival arches. The Cathedral was built in paleochristian age, then was only a cemetery sanctuary, in the IV century was a basilica, after the conquest of the moslems ws changed in mosque.
The sacred building was returned at the christian cult only during the kingdom of Ruggero II.
At its inside there are the real tombs, the sarcophagus of Federico II, that of Ruggero, of Arrigo IV, of Costanza d'Altavilla and some pages of the Koran carved in a column together the urn of silver tha reserves the relics of S. Rosalia patron of Palermo.
