MOUNTAIN BIKING
Mountain biking is one of the new frontiers of mountain excurionism, in the light of the extensive resources of a territory full of natural and landscaping attractions.

Biking is a new way to discover the beauties of Ciociaria and a way to protect the environment.

The proposed itinerary allows to reach Fiuggi, through natural paths surrounded by luxuriant woodlands. From Fiuggi you arrive at Fumone and then at lake Canterno.

The itinerary that leads to the Altipiani di Arcinazzo is instead more tiring and ask for a good training to challenge the many climbings. Going through Acuto, a stop must be made on the hilltop to gain new strength. The itinerary that leads to Piglio is more suitable for the well-trained, who can then enjoy themselves by tackling the hairpin bends that are met as soon as you leave the village.

HANG-GLIDING
Hang-gliding is a sport practised in several areas in Ciociaria, such as Prato di Campoli (Veroli), Cardito (Vallerotonda) and Atina.hang-gliding

Yet the place that has become the “hang-gliders' paradise” is Serrone where the followers of this sport are trained and carefully followed by the trainers of a well-known school.

From the height of its 738 m, Serrone is the favourite destination of a lot of gliders and hang-gliders who fly especially on clear days of June and July, a time when every year the International Hang-gliding Exhibition takes place.

Then the lovers of this sport glide from Mount Scalambra and fly over the marvellous underlying landscape.

TREKKING
Many areas of Ciociaria provide extremely interesting excursions; the extensive oak and chestnut woodlands that cover the surrounding mountains are among the favourite destinations of those who regularly practise trekking. Here they find lots of itineraries with varying degrees of difficulty to suit any level of phisical training.

A three-hour walk allows you to go from the karst plateau of Campo Catino to Pozzotello's water spring. For the most skilled and trained, especially suitable is the way that from Campo Catino takes to the top of Mount Viglio, from which you can enjoy a breath-taking view; or you can immerse yourself into the wilderness of the Ernici Mounts, among beech woods and unspoiled paths in the natural oasis of Prato di Campoli.

Among the easiest itineraries, recommended also by the C.A.I., there are the path that winds from Mount Redentore to Mount Altino and Mount Acino (Arunci Mounts, around 1,350 m); the traverse from Prati di Mezzo to Cardito (Abruzzi National Park - Mainarde range) which goes from 880 m to 1,471 m.

There are also a number of climbings to La Monna (Ernici Mounts), starting from Campo Catino, Colle Panunzio or from the Charterhouse of Trisulti.

These routes have an average length of three to six hours and a difference in height ranging from 300 m to 1,100 m.
