The church was built between the 1297 and the 1326 in gothic shapes but the upper floor of the structure was destroyed during the construction of the Rocca Paolina to make sure oneself a good eyesight from the fortress toward the valley. The octagonal massive structure, like a robust tower, is erected under lee of the ancient etruscan walls. Like altar acts a roman sarcophagus of the III-IV century with the relics of the Saint Patron.
