The Ghildini Palace was built from 1732 onwards by the architect Benedetto Alfieri for the marquis Tommaso Maria Ghilini. It is a remarkable example of Piedmontese baroque architecture with exquisitely decorated interiors. After being alienated to the French government in 1805, the palace became a propoerty of the Savoy kings: since 1869, it houses the prefecture and the Provincial Administration.
