It is one of the urban doors of Palermo. Built in the 1582, the works lasted almost a twenty years. Was used a new ttechnique, that of the thin separate piers, that never it had beeen used for the construction of a door of city. On the door, in the 1642 were affixed also two fountains. The bombings of the last war destroyed the pier of right, then faithfully rebuilt.
